HMS PURSUER moored after arriving back at Greenock.

Four of her Grumman Wildcat fighters had successfully defended a valuable Atlantic convoy in a night action against enemy aircraft 360 miles west of Cape Finisterre. In the course of the operation, they shot down two German aircraft, a Heinkel HE 177 and a Focke Wulf FW 200, and hit another Focke Wulf. The convoy was undamaged and the Wildcats returned safely.
